Class I Friday, June 27th, 8:30-10:00am: BREATH
This class will dive more deeply into pranayama, or yogic breathing, to cultivate focus and energy regulation. Class II Friday, July 18th, 8:30-10:00am: MIND/BODY This class will focus on the nervous system and its connection to fight or flight. We will learn how to release the psoas the main muscle connected to the system of fight or flight. Please bring socks. Class III: Friday, August 15th, 8:30-10:00am: RELAX This will be a restorative class that uses breathwork and restorative poses—integrating some of the tools we have learned thus far—to foster deep relaxation. Please bring pillows and blankets. Gwendolyn Alker runs Block Island Yoga and started teaching asana in NYC 2000, and for the Block Island community since 2007. In the winter months she is an Associate Arts Professor in the Drama Department, TSOA/NYU.
