Susan Littlefield has an MA in Holistic Counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified IFS ( Internal Family Systems) Therapist. She has her Kripalu professional yoga teacher certification (500 hrs); Amrit Yoga Teacher certification (200 hrs); is a certified Yoga Nidra Facilitator and trained in the models of Hakomi, Relational Life Institute, Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems. Sue has taught yoga on Block Island for 25 years and has incorporated yoga and body-mind therapy into her private Counseling Practice, Parenting Classes and Workshops since 2005.
Since 2008, students from far and wide have gathered for Sue's All-Day Yoga Retreats (New England, NY and CA) She loves bringing her yoga teaching into the world of poetry and sufi practices and has taught many years at the Block Island Poetry Project, Dances of Universal Peace gatherings, and at Robert Bly's Great Mother Conference.
Sue has produced an instructional yoga cd entitled Tidal Flow which hundreds of students use for their personal practice. They love taking Sue's voice home with them !
African drumming, singing and writing poetry bring her great joy. Sue’s poems have been published in two anthologies The Poetry of Yoga: Volume I and Where Beach Meets Ocean.
